in indian tradition, there
are four auspicious fasting days each
month: full moon, new moon, and
then also 11 days after each of the
moon days. this eleventh day is called ekadasi.
it is believed that on
ekadasi, as on moon days, the forces of nature
can be more intense,
and so fasting is one way to tune in to this more
heightened energy. if
you are not used to fasting, you can start with juice fasts & also taking
